Rajouri: The ten day training program on dairy farming and vermicompost making organised by the Rural Self Employment training institute under the project Unnati culminated Thursday here at ITI Rajouri.
The program was organised under the guidance and supervision of the Commissioner Secretary to Government RDD and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kour and DDC Rajouri, Vikas Kundal.
The valedictory function was presided over by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Pawan Kumar. Among the others, Director RSETI, Raman Kumar; ACP, Abdul Rashid; DIO, Narinder Kumar; officials of the ITI and trainees were present during the event.
Project Unnati is aimed at training unskilled MGNREGA workers to improve their skill base. The scheme is meant to train one adult member (between 18 and 45 years) per household, who has completed 100 days of work under MGNREGA in the previous financial year. The registration of candidates is done through Aadhaar identification.
Addressing the trainees, the ADDC threw light on the Unnati project saying that the project provides skill training to existing workers of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) with an aim to improve their skills.
Highlighting the objective of the training program, he said that the training will help MGNREGA workers to equip them with better employment opportunities.
He also said that this training will also help to address the shortage of skilled manpower and employment opportunities.
Later, the ADDC also distributed certificates among the trainees and urged them to share about how Project UNNATI training has brought positive changes in their lives and given them a new sustainable livelihood opportunity to lead their lives.
