Block Divas: DDC Rajouri listens to public issues at Seri

DM releases information brochures/pamphlets on perils of drugs on individuals & society

Rajouri : To redress the public grievances at people’s doorsteps, the District Administration Rajouri Wednesday organised a public grievances redressal camp here at Seri as a part of the weekly block divas.
The event was presided over by the District Development Commissioner, VikasKundal.
Among the others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar; DDC member Seri, Sangeeta Sharma; BDC Seri, Neena Sharma; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Jal Shakti, JP Singh; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; EXN EM and RE, Mohd Hasan; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt and other district and sectoral officers.
The DDC also released information brochures regarding the perils of drugs on individuals and society.
During the event, the public and their representatives apprised the DDC about scores of issues and demands of their areas including macadamization of roads, better health services, upgradation of Govt institutions etc.
Specific issues included Awaas Plus resurvey, mobile network issues in border panchayat, upgradation of High school Lower Kalal, release of funds under BADP, repair of defunct hand pumps, awareness about the SMAS, X-ray machine etc.
Other demands included dental chair for PHC Seri, holding of revenue camps, execution of NABARD projects, augmentation of water supply, receiving station at Gagrote, new ration cards, Dabarpotha High School up-gradation, early start of capex work under PDD sector, renovation of roads, repair of bunkers etc.
Some more issues included opening of Tehsil Office Beripattan, payment of MGNREGA liability, Bunker payment and sanctioning of new bunkers, cooperation of departments with PRIs, release of funds under SCA to SCAP plan, JK bank branch at DabbarPotha etc.
During the event, the concerned officers from different departments including ICDS, Social welfare, PWD, PDD and others also educated the public about their different schemes being implemented in the district.
DFO Neelima Shah also spoke on the occasion and urged the public to extend helping hand for conservation of forests. She also informed about the schemes that are being implemented in convergence mode and the initiatives of the department like training on pine needlecraft and other training programs and asked the public to participate in training camps.
The SE Jal Shakti also informed the public about the implementation of the JalJeevan Mission. He also assured that the department will ensure adequate drinking water facilities to the public.
The DDC gave patient hearing to the demands and problems of the people and passed on the spot instructions to the concerned officers to take up the problems related to their respective departments and redress the same in a given time frame.
Highlighting the objective of the block Divas, he said that it aims to understand the problems faced by the people and mitigate them besides to bridge the gap between Govt and public and to ascertain the needs of the masses so that the same were fulfilled in a better and effective manner.
Underlining the measures being taken for the inclusive, all-round and substantial development of the district, he said that emphasis was being laid to take the district to newer heights and new levels of prosperity.
Referring to various Govt schemes and programs, he said that these were being implemented to improve their socio-economic status and the people must avail the benefits of the same.
He also advised all the officers to work with an objective to ameliorate the condition of the poor and bring a qualitative improvement in their lives.
