Rajouri: Dir YSS declares JK Volleyball Tourney Open

Rajouri : The Department of Youth Services and Sports organised Inter Distt UT Level Tournament in the discipline of Volleyball for U19 boys here at Mini Sports Stadium.
The tournament was declared open by Director Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Department, Gazanfar Ali who was accompanied by ADDC Rajouri Pawan Kumar Parihar and DYSSO Rajouri Sunil Singh Sambyal.The inaugural ceremony started with a pledge by the participants to abide by the rules and regulations of the game.
Addressing the participants, the Director YSS advised the young student players to take part in physical activities regularly for their sound mental and physical health. “Sports definitely inculcate a sense of discipline and brotherhood in the participants” he said. He appreciated DYSSO Rajouri for conducting this mega event in the most proficient way.While talking about the benefits of planting trees, he stressed upon the participants to plant at-least one sapling this year as the Department has decided to launch a mega plantation drive across J&K. He also threw light on the new initiatives of the Department and said “We have a huge workforce and every possible step is being taken to achieve maximum from their efforts.Meanwhile, teams consisting of 210 young school boys drawn from all the 20 districts of the J&K are participating in the tournament. Twenty Eight Officials have been deputed for the successful conduct of the tourney. The tournament is being organised as per league cum knock out basis and shall conclude on 17th of the current month.ADDC Rajouri Pawan Kumar Parihar also addressed the players and appreciated the Department of YSS for conducting Sports activities in all districts involving maximum number of youth. He lavished praise on the employees of YSS for playing their role in eradicating the menace of drugs in the district.The DYSSO Rajouri in his welcome address expressed gratitude to the Director Sports for gracing the event with his presence.
