Rajouri : A ten day training program on dairy and vermicompost was Monday inaugurated by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Pawan Kumar here at ITI Rajouri. The training program was organised by the Rural Self Employment training institute under the project Unnati.
Among others, Director RSETI, Raman Kumar; Principal ITI Rajouri, Abdul Rashid; officials of the ITI and trainees were present during the event.
It is pertinent to mention here that the project Unnati is aimed at training unskilled MGNREGA workers to improve their skill base.
Director RSETI, Raman Kumar informed that the scheme is meant to train one adult member (between 18 and 45 years) per household, who has completed 100 days of work under MGNREGA in the previous financial year. He also informed that the registration of candidates is done through Aadhaar identification.
Addressing the trainees, the ADDC threw light on the Unnati project saying that the project provides skill training to existing workers of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) with an aim to improve their skills.
Highlighting the objective of the training program, he said that the Government is rolling out a number of initiatives to boost employment at local level.
The ADDC also urged upon the trainees to avail the maximum benefit of the training program and asked them not to restrict this gainful knowledge to themselves but also train the other adults of the district.
