Kupwara : Continuing the celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), a function was Saturday organized by the Rural Development Department at Panchayat Ghar Khumriyal which saw participation of a large number of women from different walks of life.
BDO Kalaroose, Mushtaq Ahmad; ZEO Khumriyal, besides, Supervisors, ICDS Workers and girl students from local schools attended the function.
On the occasion, BDO and ZEO spoke and highlighted the role of women in various fields of life.
Other speakers including students and Anganwadi Workers also spoke and emphasized the importance of women in the overall development of the nation.
Later, the officers distributed awards among the participating Anganwadi Workers and students.
An IWD function was also organized at Tangdar in which local officers, besides, women from various departments, participated.
