Dir RDD, Kashmir visits Ang, Reviews status of MGNREGA, PMAY-G & other schemes

Emphasis laid on achieving targets in full, no spillovers

Ang 2: Director, Rural Development (RDD) Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar Saturday visited Anantnag to review the progress of various flagship Rural Development schemes under implementation in the district.
Assistant Commissioner Development Anantnag, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Anantnag, SE (REW), Executive Engineer (REW) Anantnag, BDOs, AEEs and other officers attended the review meeting.
The status of various rural flagship schemes including MGNREGA, PMAY-G and 14th FCA besides progress of works taken up under the Capex Budget (CD & Pyt Sector) District Capex (DDC, BDC & PRI Grants) and construction of DDC/ BDC Offices, RGSA was reviewed in detail.
ACD Anantnag informed that Anantnaghas achieved 98% target in respect of persondays generated under MGNREGA. Against a target of 34.79 Lakh persondays set for ending March 2022, 34.02 Lakh person days have already been generated till date. Moreover, MGNREGA Wages are being released in time among the MGNREGA Job Card Holders and till date Rs74.80 Crore have been paid under labour component besides 100% geo-tagging of assets and 99.61% Aadhaar Seeding of Job Card Holders is complete.
Similarly, out of the 8077 works taken up under MGNREGA, 3452 works have been completed while remaining are at final stages of execution. BDOs were instructed to complete the remaining works both physically as well as financially by or before March, 31, 2022.
Furthermore, under PMAY-G, against the approved target of 2315 units, 2131 housing units have been completed till date. The 1st installment in favor of all 2315 beneficiaries, 2nd installment in favor of 2311 and 3rd installment in favor of 2142 beneficiaries has been released. Additionally, under the Non SECC PMAY-G, out of the 3253 units target, 2074 have been sanctioned till date and 1st installment in favor of 700 beneficiaries has been released. “The sanctioning of remaining units and release of 1st installment in favor of beneficiaries is being expedited and the target will be achieved in full” ACD Anantnag said.
Under the Capex Budget CD & Pyt Sector, out of the 157 works taken-up for execution, 83 have been completed and remaining are at final stages of completion. Moreover, under Rural Connectivity, out of the 6 works taken up, 3 have been completed.
It was further informed that during the current financial year, one DDC Office at Anantnagand three BDC Offices at Shangus, Hiller and K Porahave been approved for construction.
Under the District Capex 2021-22, 770 works have been completed and 759 are under execution as on date.
Emphasizing that endeavor must be to achieve targets in full, Director RDD Kashmir urged BDOs and Rural Engineering staff to redouble their efforts and work in mission mode so that all taken up works are physically and financially completed by or before March 31, 2022 with no spillovers into next Financial Year. He also stressed on timely release of the remaining installments in favor of the housing unit beneficiaries under PMAY-G and for completion of these units so that poor deserving families are benefitted.
Director, RDD Kashmir directed officers to monitor the quality standard of all ongoing works.
