Series of activities mark Iconic women’s week celebration across Rajouri Distt

Rajouri : Iconic women’s week being celebrated across the country is in full swing in Rajouri district and a series of activities are being carried out in the district as part of the celebration.
In continuation to these activities, the Rural Development Department on Saturday organised an awareness cum women felicitation program here at Chawa and Gurdan Balla Panchayats of block Rajouri.
The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal.
Addressing the event, the Deputy Commissioner said that the District Administration is taking all possible measures for the socioeconomic development of the women. He said the Government launched several schemes to make them independent and live a dignified life in the society.
Underlining the importance and contribution of the women in the society, he said that women are nowhere less than the men in any manner and have shown their calibre in all the fields of life.
Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Development, Vijay Kumar and BDO, Chander Kant also educated the women about a number of Govt schemes and programs meant for their socio-economic development and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.
