Udhampur: Labour Deptt hosts awareness event to mark National pension week

Udhampur : To mark the celebration of National Pension Week under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav, Department of Labour, Udhampur Saturday organized a mega event for the generating awareness and registration under the said scheme.
The event was held in KDN Palace Udhampur and was chaired by Vinakshi Koul, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu and presided over by Jitender Vermani, President Beopar Mandal Udhampur.
At the onset, Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Udhampur welcomed the guests followed by the deliberation about the Pension Scheme meant for unorganized workers.
While addressing the gathering, the Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu urged the participants which included representatives of Labour Unions and Boopar MandaL to timely avail the pension scheme for a secured old age. She also emphasized on the donate -a– pension module. She urged the employers to donate one month to one year pension premium at one stretch for their employees. She appealed to the eligible un-organized workers in the age group of 18-40 years to get enrolled for Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana through nearest CSC centers by paying a monthly premium of Rs. 55 to Rs. 200 and added that on maturity they can receive a minimum pension of Rs. 3000/- per month.
Later, PYMSYM cards were distributed among the beneficiaries who were registered on the spot. Pamphlets were also distributed on the spot by labour department Udhampur.
Some prominent persons who contributed in making the pension week a success were also honored. They included Rahul Magotra, Advocate Rajesh Gupta, Lakhvinder Singh, Ashish Dutt, Arun Gupta, Anil Vasanti, Vijay Sharma, Sanjeev Dubey, Pawan Sharma Jandhial, Brij Pal, Sourav Sharma and other members of Beopar Mandal, various Labour Unions and NGOs.
