JKSA thanks PM, EAM, JK LG for safe evacuation of Students from Ukraine

Srinagar : J&K Students Association on Saturday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for safely evacuating stranded students of Jammu and Kashmir from the conflict-hit Ukrine.
In a Statement issued here, National Spokesperson of the Association, Nasir Khuehami expressed gratitude to all of them for their personal intervention and efforts in evacuating Jammu and Kashmir students who were studying in different parts of ukraine and were stranded there due to on going crisis between Ukraine and Russia. “They have paid its valuable attention towards the Kashmiri students in Coordinating and evacuating them back to India,” he said.
Khuehami said, Association took the matter with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governors office from the very first day and provided them details of all stranded students and later they coordinated with External Affairs Ministry and Prime Minister’s Office. The J&K Govt immediately intervened in it and resolved the matter at the earliest possible time.We express gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for considering students’ demand as first priority and taking this to External Affairs Ministry and Indian Embassy in evacuating 140 students back to Jammu and Kashmir. We had demanded to authorities to evacuate them at an earliest as there families back in kashmir were anxious, frightened and scared and finally it was made possible. All students have reached back to kashmir safely and healthy. Students received free boarding, lodging & transport to their homes through J&K Government, he added.
Davood Peer, Vice President of Association said that, All stranded students were in contact with association throughout the journey. He also thanked Government of India, J&K Government and the Indian Embassy for taking measures to evacuate the stranded students safely from their places and letting them go to the borders and reach their destinations safely.
Indeed it was an onerous job to find out the details of stranded students and successfully evacuate them. Students were in commontion and chaos beacuse of the tense situation around them there. We thank J&K Government for fructifying coordination and prompt responses in evacuating the students from Ukarine. They help proved indispensable bring off this task, davood added.
