Female DDC members, Officers, entrepreneurs, SHG members felicitated on Women’s Day at Kulgam

Kulgam : The female DDC members, Officers, entrepreneurs hailing from various areas of the district were Friday felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat at mini-secretariat here to celebrate Women’s Day.
This function was organized by the Rural Development Department in collaboration with Agriculture, Social Welfare, Sheep, Animal Husbandry, Mahila Shakti Kendra and NRLM Kulgam.
During the function several speakers highlighted the importance of women in framing and shaping prosperous and developed nations.
Officers from various departments also apprised the participants about various women oriented schemes which have been rolled for their upliftment and to provide them ample space to become self-reliant by establishing their own business units.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Bilal said that so many measures and steps have been taken to empower the women however more is required to do.
He laid emphasis and advocated for elimination of gender bias and added that no nation/country can progress until the women are empowered.
The programme was also attended by ADDC, ADC, ACR, ACD, DSHO, DSWO, Tehsildar Hq. and other officers, besides, a large number of women from various areas also participated in the function.
