DC Bandipora hands over dairy units, poultry vehicles, milk van to farmers

Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Friday handed over dairy units, caged poultry vehicles and milk Van among farmers under different schemes Of Department of Animal Husbandry, here.
Dr Owais handed over Single Cow Dairy Units besides chaff cutters and other dairy accessories among farmers besides handing over keys of caged poultry vehicle under IPDO scheme and Milk Van under IDDS scheme. He also handed over One C/B Jersey Cow, One Chaff Cutter, One Feeding Tub, One Spade and One Scrapper to each one of the beneficiaries.
The DC on the occasion interacted with the beneficiary farmers who were selected under TSP Cluster Model Village Shokbaba, Kudara and Sumlar.
He appreciated the efforts of the department in general and CAHO Bandipora in particular for his commendable job in smoothly accomplishing the assigned task.
The DC said that there is enough scope for dairy industry in the district and urged youth to avail the benefits of Govt. schemes as hand-holding to establish their own income generating units.
He said many young educated youth have started dairy farms and are running them successfully. He said the administration continues to assist such farmers so that they can sell their products at profitable rates and hence these equipment are distributed on subsidized rates.
Dr Owais urged local youth to take initiatives for locally packing pasteurized milk and also spreading business to other areas.
Later, the DC also interacted with the VASs of the Block Bandipora and appreciated and acknowledged their efforts in increasing the number of dairy and poultry farms in the district.
The event was attended by Joint Director Planning, DDC Member Arin, BDC Chairman Arin, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, BVO Bandipora, PRIs of Sumlar, Shokbaba and Kudara besides VASs of the Block Bandipora.
