Udhampur: In view of Yesterday’s Blast incident at Slathia Chowk in Udhampur and on the call of family member of injured, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Rajni Sharma, on the direction of on Chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Y P Bourney, Thursday visited District Hospital Udhampur to inquire about the welfare of injured and also redress the problem being faced by them and their family members.
During the interaction with DLSA Secretary, wife of one injured Raja Ram expressed her helplessness to shift her husband to home as she was not having a single penny to arrange a vehicle or purchase medicines. Same was the case with other patients.
Taking strong note of the situation, the Secretary DLSA took up the matter with the Hospital Superintendent and directed him to arrange a vehicle for the injured for shifting them to Ramnagar and Jammu for specialized treatment. She also directed him to provide free medicines to the injured available in the hospital.
Showing a human face proved to be a beacon of hope for the injured. The Secretary DLSA also gave rupees five thousands to the family from her own pockets for arranging meals and medicine not available in the hospital. Meanwhile, Secretary DLSA assured injured that she had already taken up matter with local administration and they will get compensation shortly.
After the incident of the blast yesterday, the Secretary DLSA had immediately rushed to the District hospital along with district administration and personally monitored the treatment being given to the injured.
