Jammu : Armed Police Headquarters J&K on Thursday organized the event “Shaheedon Ko Naman” at Govt. Girls High School, Gandhinagar Jammu. The event organized under the Civic Action Programme of J&K Police for the year 2021 – 2022 was dedicated to those who sacrificed their precious lives for integrity and sovereignty of the country. A cultural Programme was held on the occasion by the J&K police Cultural Team to mark the event in which Patriotic Songs were sung by the Cultural Team Members. Some School Staff members and students also joined the Police Cultural Team in gracing the programme. Saika Khan of the School elegantly managed the stage and anchored the entire event, very professionally.
Ganesh Khajuria, Headmaster of the School was the Chief Guest on the occasion, whereas Dushyant Sharma, SSP SO Sports APHQ J&K was the Guest of Honour. The entire programme of the event was supervised by Syed Sajad Hussain, DySP Sports APHQ under the overall guidance of S.J.M Gillani ADGP Armed. More than 500 students and staff who enthusiastically witnessed the event, highly lauded the performance of Cultural Team members of J&K Police. Chief Guest and teachers became emotional when one of the Cultural Team members of J&K Police (Ms. Yasmeen) bowed her forehead while entering the school gate as she had been the student of the said school during her schooling from 1st to 10th standard. The school staff and students also praised Nooreen Bhat another J&K Police Cultural Team Member for her melodious voice while presenting patriotic songs on the occasion. Refreshments and Chocolates were distributed amongst the staff members and students respectively. Dushyant Sharma SSP presented cash reward to a student for her outstanding performance on the occasion.
While addressing the function, SSP Dushant Sharma apprised the audience about the objectives of J&K Police for organising such events under Civic Action Programmes of J&K Police. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Ganesh Khajuria appreciated J&K Police for organising the aid event in their school. He said the student of his school were confined to their homes from March 2020 due to Corona Virus but today the Sheen of happiness has emerged on their faces after a long time. Two-minute silence was also observed on the conclusion of the function to pay tribute to the martyrs.
