Int’l Women’s Day celebrated at Kulgam : Several women mates felicitated under MGNREGA, other fields

Kulgam : To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Rural Development Department Kulgam Wednesday kick started week long function at mini-secretariat, here.
The Department also held a felicitation ceremony during which several women were felicitated for their contribution as MGNREGA mates and in other fields.
The programme was attended by DDC member Manzgam, Jameela Chowdhary, DDC Member Behibagh Ruby Jan, BDCs, sarpanches and a large number of women from various areas of the district.
Besides ADC, Showkat Ahmat Rather, ACD Mohammad Imran Khan, Tehsildar Headquarter and other District Officers participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC emphasized that the essence of the day can only be captured when we as a society try to break out of the parochial gendered mindset both in family and at work place.
Meanwhile, to celebrate International women’s day, the Department of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Kulgam on Tuesday organised functions, awareness programmes at various places.
Speakers during these programmes highlighted the role and importance of women in framing and developing the nation.
During these programmes, participants were also apprised about various women rights and schemes of ICDS.
Success stories of women were also shared during these programmes.
These programmes were held at Pahaloo, D.H.Pora, Qazigund, Kulgam and at other ICDS projects of Kulgam.
