Ramban : Forest Division Ramban, in collaboration with PRIs and locals, conducted a district wide plantation drive under Green J&K drive as a part of International Women Day celebration.
At Panchayat Sildhar, DDC Councilor Ramban, Renuka Katoch, Sarpanch Sildhar Anika Kumari, panches, women, students of Middle School Kundi and locals participated under the banner of JK green drive.
While highlighting the importance of celebrating International Women’s Day every year, the DDC Councilor said that women are playing a vital role in the overall development of society and the day is observed to recognize their work. She impressed upon the people especially women to contribute in enhancing green cover in their areas besides protecting existing forests.
Meanwhile, DFO Ramban Dr. Rajan Singh sought the cooperation of the locals and PRIs in protection and conservation of the forest property. He also sensitized the public regarding JK Green Drive Har Goan Haryali and also sought the help from PRIs, NGOs and the general public to make the programme successful.
Similar drives were also conducted at various places of the division including Dalwah, Gool, GHSS Tethar, Shagan where women PRI and locals participated during the plantation drive.
Awareness program on PMEGP, other Job oriented schemes held at Batote

Ramban|March, 8: District Industries Centre, Ramban, Wednesday organized an awareness camp at Tringla Batote to educate the locals about Self Employment schemes being implemented by the department in the industrial and service sectors.
Welcoming the participants, the General Manager DIC Ramban, Vishwajeet explained in detail various schemes being implemented by J&K and Central Government like the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) scheme, so as to make the youth job creators instead of job seekers.
The participants were told about various benefits / subsidies which they can get by registering themselves with the respective DIC.
The General Manager also informed them that they can start their small ventures under the PMEGP Scheme in Manufacturing and Services sectors.
The BI, DIC Ramban, Sachin Sharma highlighted the procedures and various formalities required for registration under MSME and uploading of application forms under PMEGP Scheme. EO Municipal Committee, Batote, Sanjay Kumar was also present on the occasion.
The participants very eagerly heard and thanked GM DIC and other staff members for guiding them and making them aware about various schemes.
