Ramban : Municipal Council Ramban and Pollution Control Committee teams on Saturday seized banned plastic material during an intensive market checking.
The checking was conducted as part of anti-polythene drive launched in the district by Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Vishwajeet and Divisional Officer PCC, Sanjay Rathod.
A joint team of Pollution Control Committee and Municipal Council conducted the market checking in the Ramban town and seized 7 kg banned polythene below 75 microns and 4 kg single use plastic. They also realized an amount of Rs 1400 as fine from different shopkeepers for using banned material.
Besides, the teams also sensitized the people about harmful effects of use of plastic and polythene during inspection, they also warned the shopkeepers and vendors not to use banned plastic items.
