IQAC GDC Udhampur organises NAAC Orientation Prog

Udhampur | March, 5 : As a Quality Initiative, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the Government Degree College Boys Udhampur Saturday organized an Orientation programme for the Faculty and students on NAAC accreditation.
The programme was chaired by the patron and chief guest Principal Prof. Subash Chander Sharma in the recently inaugurated browsing center of the college.
Prof. Babu Lal Thakur and Dr. Manisha Kohli were the special guests, while Dr. Pankaj Sharma and Prof. Shaji Khan were the organizers of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairperson, Principal Prof. Subash Chander Sharma, congratulated all present about the browsing center which was inaugurated on 3rd of March by the Principal Secretary HED, Rohit Kansal during his visit to the College.
Post this, he apprised and impressed upon all the faculty and students to gear up for the mandatory accreditation cycle of the NAAC which is due for the college and also informed all about the works and processes taken in hand for its smooth conduct. He was of the view that the college has the potential to achieve the highest grading and become a leading institute of excellence of HED in the entire Union Territory.
Earlier, Coordinator of IQAC Prof. Gurvinder Raj Verma welcomed the patron, other guests and the participants for the much awaited and need of the hour orientation programme. He shared the information with regard to the submission and successful approval by NAAC of the required AQARs to further initiate the process of submitting the self study report.
After the inaugural session, the Resource person Dr. Pallavi Bhagat had a detailed talk on all the aspects of NAAC accreditation with respect to the seven different criterions as also the role of the various departments, staff and the students of the college thereof.
After her talk, an open-house interactive discussion was held among the Speaker, the criterion heads, and participating staff and students of the college. The stage coordination and moderation of the session was done by Dr. Pankaj Sharma.
Prof. Romesh Sharma tendered the formal vote of thanks and also informed about the series of programs of the different sorts initiated by IQAC.
The program was attended by more than sixty members of the faculty and the representatives of the college student council.
