AHD Kishtwar hosts series of awareness camps in Kishtwar

Kishtwar  : A series of Awareness Camp were organized by the Animal Husbandry Department Kishtwar under SCA to SCSP (Special Central Assistance to Scheduled Caste Sub Plan), here across the district onFriday. The camps were held at Village Anjol (Thakrie), Village Ayar (Trigam) Neeju, Block Drabshalla, Village Ladder and Matti (Block Padder).
More than 400 animal breeders including a large number of women participated in these camps.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen was the main campaigner of the event, accompanied by Dr. Arif Shah (MVO Kishtwar) along with Veterinary Assistant Surgeons & other staff of the concerned centers.
The CAHO, besides other field functionaries, educated the local Public of the areas about schemes of Department and benefits of vaccination against diseases. They advised the public to ensure vaccination of healthy animals to protect them against different diseases.
The local public was also apprised about the benefits of frozen semen technology for animal breeding (Artificial Insemination) which is the main highlight & important pillar of the Animal Husbandry Department.
They were asked to avail the facility of frozen semen technology in the nearby Veterinary Centers for Artificial Insemination.
To boost the local milk production of their animals, the people from the Schedule Caste community were given free of cost medicines, mineral mixtures, calcium supplements, Dewormers in addition to vaccination and the general treatment.
They were also educated about different beneficiary schemes of the Department like KCC, Livestock Insurance etc. The people were asked to co-operate & get themselves benefitted by various schemes of the Department.
The public Representative of the villages appreciated the efforts of the Department in uplifting the socio-economic status of the public.
