Rajouri : The NariNiketan Centre on Thursday organised “show your talent, as part of activities being held tomark the celebration of International women’s Week.
During the event, the inmates participated and showed their talent in dancing, singing, painting, drawing, natural hairstyling, art and crafts. The participants included those in the age group of 6-15 years and 15-25 years.
Neha and Sunaina won prizes for painting & drawing, Tazeem Akhter &RuksanaKousser for arts & craft, HarmeetKour&Gulnaz Akhter for dancing, NazmaKousser and Ruksar for singing .
Nidhi Sharma (Superintendent NariNiketan), while speaking on the occasion, said every person is bestowed with a talent, no matter where she/he comes from or how much resources she/he has, there is at least one skill that she/he can be good at.
These talents are most likely to go to waste if they don’t get a platform and this initiative is to recognise the talent of the inmates and to harness their talents.
“The event was organised to exhibit their talents and work on them accordingly and this helps them to improve their self-confidence and contribute to their holistic development,” she added.
“We are surrounded by superwomen who manage to juggle a host of responsibilities all at once along with being super talented. Sometimes a stage is all that they need” she asserted. She motivated the girls and said “Go ahead, shine and fly high with your talents”.
