JDA hosts Interactive Workshop for 5 yr periodical review of Jammu Master Plan 2032

Jammu:An interactive Stakeholders’ workshop was on Wednesday organized by JDA in association with the Town and Country Planning Organization Government of India here in the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
The interactive workshop was organised to gather public feedback and suggestions on the 5 year periodical review of Jammu Master Plan 2017-32 which has been initiated by JDA.
Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Raghav Langer in the inaugural session, presented a broader vision and perspective on the Jammu Master Plan-2032 and initiated discussions among the Public Representatives and HoDs of the line Departments on the expected outcomes of the Master Plan Review exercise.
Vice Chairman JDA, Pankaj Magotra, conducted the proceedings of the workshop and made public representatives aware about steps initiated by JDA for facilitating faster online building permissions, allowing Agriculture Land for conversion to Land-use prescribed in the Master Plan and finding out the land-use of their land by the visitors on JDA website.
The workshop was attended by DDC Chairman Jammu and Samba, Officers from JMC, Urban Local Bodies, Police and Civil administration, Chief Engineers of various deptts, Director AIIMS, Director IIT/IIM, Regional Director NHAI and representatives of Chamber of Commerce and Industries participated.
Besides, Town & Country planners, Delhi Associate Architects and Chief Town Planner, JDA were also present who made the representatives aware about the process for review of the Master Plan. Some important points on which opinion & suggestions were taken were to prioritize the solution of important problems of Jammu Town, identification of localities which need improvement in terms of traffic and transportation, Solid Waste Management, sewerage, drainage, telecommunications, social, cultural RiverFront Development, conservation of environment etc. of the overall Jammu Master Plan Area.
Future vision of Jammu city in terms of IT, Industry, Pilgrimage Tourism, Economy etc. in next 20 years was also discussed during the workshop and feedback taken by the Town & Country Planning experts for consideration during the review exercise.
