Pulse Polio Immunizations programme in Srinagar

B’Pora: With an aim to cover all the children of below 05 years of age under pulse polio immunization programme, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir Thursday convened a meeting of District Task Force for Pulse Polio Immunization at mini secretariat, here.
During the meeting, a detailed presentation on Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) program was presented to ensure cent percent coverage on 27th Feb 2022 to be observed as National Pulse Polio Immunization Day.
The meeting discussed all the arrangements put in place for the immunization of children under the 0-5 years age group in main town, rural areas besides in far flung, snow bound hamlets.
The meeting was informed that a total of 62564 children, below the age of five years, will be administered Pulse polio vaccine in the district.
Dy.CMO Bandipora, Dr.Parvaiz informed the meeting that 360 vaccination booths have been set up in the district engaging 1440 workers.
She further informed that 430 vaccinators will be deputed to these established booths besides 70 supervisors, 412 Asha Workers, and 437 AWW workers for ensuring absolute coverage.
Apart from District hospitals, vaccination will be in full swing in Anganwadi Centres, Primary and sub Health Centres.
ADC said that the programme shall be implemented in all the subdivisions and far flung areas.
He asked the concerned officers from the Health Department to work with added zeal to ensure the cent percent coverage of children under the programme.
The meeting was attended by CDPO Bandipora, District Immunization Officer Bandipora, DMEIO, Officers from Health Department besides other concerned officers.
