Drug peddler arrested in Sopore: Police

Sopore : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler who was evading his arrest for a long time.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that acting on specific input about the presence of a drug peddler who was evading his arrest since long time, a police team led SHO Police Station Panzalla under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri Ameen Bhat managed to arrest the accused person namely Muhammad Rafiq Lone son of Muhammad Yousuf Lone resident of Nadihal Rafiabad.
“The accused has been produced before the competent court and has been remanded to police custody for further questioning”, reads the police statement.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
