2 militant associates arrested in Baramulla, Incriminating materials including ammunition recovered: police

Baramulla  : Police on Wednesday said that two militant associates linked with Lashkar e Toiba -LeT (TRF) were arrested in Baramulla and Incriminating materials including ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
In statement issued on Wednesday police said that acting on specific inputs joint parties of Baramulla Police, Army 46RR, 2nd Bn SSB and 53 Bn CRPF established many Nakas within the jurisdiction of Police Station Sheeri, stating therein further that among them, one Naka was established on Zehanpora-Khadniyar link road and during checking one Scooty bearing registration number JK05A- 9328 which was coming from Zehanpora with pillion ride was noticed moving in suspicious circumstances.
Stating that on noticing the naka party the said suspects tried to flee away from spot, but the alert party apprehended both the persons tactfully, police in the above referred statement said that during their personal search, incriminating materials including 40 live rounds of AK-47 were recovered from their possession and they were identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad son of Siraj-ud-din Bardal and Muneer Ahmad son of Siraj-ud-din both residents of Khachadari Zehanpora.
“During preliminary investigation, the arrested duo confessed that they are working for militant outfit LeT (TRF) and involved in transportation of illegal arms and ammunition used to carry out attacks on Police/ SFs”, adding that “ a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sheeri and further investigation is in progress”.
