Budgam : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and also recovered contraband substance & cash from his possession.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said that officers from PS Budgam at a checkpoint established near Ichgam Temple intercepted a suspicious person identified as Mohammad ShafiMouchi son of Nazir Ahmed Mouchi resident of Ichgam and upon checking, 300 grams of Charas & cash amount of ₹11,300 were recovered from his possession following which he was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that a case under FIR No. 43/2022 under relevant section of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and further investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
