Rajouri : To create mass awareness among people about the importance of ecological balance for better environment and healthy living, Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice-Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, launched a plantation drive at University campus Rajouri. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor laid emphasis on the importance of planting more and more trees to mitigate climate change along with protection of the environment. On the occasion, Prof. Akbar planted a sapling and highlighted the significance of afforestation for the conservation of biodiversity and bioresources. Prof.Akbar mentioned that this plantation drive aims to inspire everyone to work towards ecological restoration. Prof. Akbar said that during the plantation drive different varieties of plants including Chinar and other fruit bearing trees would be planted .Those who were present on the occasion and planted saplings of various varieties of trees included Registrar of the University Mr. Mohd Ishaq, Dean School of Engineering and Technology Prof. Asif Hussain, Dean School of Education, Prof. GM Malik, Associate Dean of students Dr. A A Shah, officers and officials of the University.
