Girls are equally shining in sports: Alok Kumar

DYSS Kick Starts 15 Days Girls Ski Course

Gulmarg : ‘’It’s heartening to see JK girls taking active part in sports and shining in different games like their counterparts. There are obvious benefits to playing sports for both girls and boys. Participation definitely help to build healthy habits to last a lifetime, as well as lead to better mental health. Children who play sports also learn how to be part of a team, communicate with others and make new friends,’’ This was stated by Alok Kumar Principal Secretary to Government Youth Services & Sports Department while inaugurating the 15 days Skiing training course for girls at a world famous destination for skiing here. He applauded the role of the field staff of the Department for taking pains in getting young children and youth involved in various sports across J&K. He was accompanied by Joint Director of the Department Bashir Ahmed and other senior officers and officials of the Department.

This year the training about the basics in skiing for school children of different J&K districts had clinched from the month of January. The first batch consisted of 100 boy skiers from 10 districts of the J&K.

The ongoing training course is being run on the directions of Principal Secretary to Govt Department of YSS under the supervision of Director YSS Gazanfar Ali.

Pertinently, about 100 girls selected from 13 districts of the UT are getting training about the basics of skiing by the skilled trainers of the Department under the technical supervision of Gul Mustafa Dev. Proper arrangements of lodging and food have been made by the Department of YSS and Hilal Ahmed Shah I/c warden Gulmarg of the Department is looking after the arrangements.
