Reopening of schools: DDC Poonch reviews preparedness of Education Deptt

Stress laid on full vaccination of age appropriate children

Poonch : Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet Tuesday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the preparedness for the opening of Colleges/ Polytechnics/ ITI/ Schools and tuition centres in the district.
Threadbare discussion was held on maintenance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) in the educational institutions.
Directions were issued to all the stakeholders for following the SOPs and Covid appropriate behaviour.
The District Development Commissioner directed the heads of all Educational institutions to submit an institutional plan in this regard. It was also directed that students above the age of 15 should be allowed only after checking their vaccination certificate.
Instructions were issued to school management and enforcement departments to prevent unnecessary gathering of students outside the schools. Similarly, the concerned authorities from the School Education Department were asked to make seating arrangements in classrooms to maintain physical distance among the students.
Calling for strict adherence to COVID protocols, the DDC asked the concerned officers to make sure that all the SOPs are followed by the students and staff in Educational institutions.
He directed that all the washrooms in the schools must be clean and they should have hand sanitizer, soap and water facilities properly.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Rohit Baskotra, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Dr. Basharat Hussain, Principals of Degree Colleges Poonch, Principal Surankote, Prof. Dr. Jasbir Singh, Principal Mendhar, Principal Polytechnic College, Poonch, Nodal Officer Covid, Zamood Ahmed, Chief Medical Officer, Dr.G.A Malik, Prof. Dr. Mohd. Azam, Prof. Fateh Mohammad Abasi, District Education Planning Officer, Poonch, Nodal Officer, COVID, Principal, HSS, Sawjia
Anwar Khan, Superintendent, ITI, Poonch/ Surankote, S. Jasbir Singh, Mendhar, Medical Officer, Dr. Rahul and Principal, Chairman Private School Association Poonch, Waheed Banday.
