Baramulla : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said that officers led by SHO Police Station Pattan along within charge PP Palhalan under the supervision of SDPO Patatn arrested one drug peddler identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar son of Gh Rasool Dar resident of Rengi Pattan and upon checking recovered from him 200 grams of charas.
“In another similar action, a police party of Police Station Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg arrested one drug peddler and identified him as Mohd Jehangir Bhat son of GhNabi Bhat resident of Mangloora Kunzer”, reads the police statement, adding that “ officers recovered 175 grams of charas from the accused who have been shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody”.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered in respective Police Stations and further investigation are underway, Police in
the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
