Vigilance Awareness Fortnight: Surprise inspection of RDD offices held at 5 CD Blocks of Anantnag

Anantnag: The Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Anantnag, Riyaz Ahmad Shah conducted surprise visits to various CD blocks in the district to check the opening of RDD offices on Sunday.
The ACD on the occasion visited Qazigund, Hiller Shahabad, Vessu, Bijbehara and Larkipora blocks in consequence to the directive to keep the offices of RDD open on Sunday in view of Vigilance Awareness Fortnight being conducted in the district from 7th to 21st February.
A total of 20 Employees were found absent in various blocks and the ACD has recommended a one day salary cut against these officers and disciplinary proceedings for failing to follow directions issued by the Controlling Officer. Notices have been issued to the concerned employees.
The ACD said that the Rural Development Department has an important role in ensuring that the Vigilance Awareness fortnight is conducted as envisaged and bears fruitful results. Accordingly it was prudent that the officials are present in their panchayat halqas to aid the deliberations and provide valuable inputs.
However, during surprise checking various employees were found absent and the erring employees will be taken to task for dereliction of duty, he added.
