Reopening of schools: DDC Rajouri reviews preparedness

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal Monday asked for hundred percent inoculation of children in 15-18 age group and ensuring due adherence to SOPs while holding of offline classes on the reopening of schools.
He was chairing a meeting of the concerned officers to review the preparedness for the reopening of schools in the district.
Officers present in the meeting included SSP, Mohd Aslam; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal; Addl. SP, Vivek Shekhar; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; Dy CMO, Dr Anees Altaf Nabi and other concerned officers.
The DDC asked the concerned officers to mobilise the field functionaries to ensure that all the eligible children in the said age group are inoculated with the both doses of COVID vaccine at the earliest.
He asked for conducting RAT Covid tests of students on regular intervals to avoid the risk of transmission of the virus.
Instructions were issued to school management and enforcement departments to prevent unnecessary gathering of students outside the schools. Similarly, the concerned authorities from the School Education Department were asked to make seating arrangements in classrooms to maintain physical distance among the students.
Calling for strict adherence to COVID protocols, the DDC asked the concerned officers to make sure that all the SOPs are followed by the students and staff in Educational institutions.
The PDD and Jal Shakti department were directed to ensure required facilities including drinking water and power supply in all the Educational institutions.
Moreover, it was also decided in the meeting that the concerned ADCs and SDMs along with the staff of the school education department would conduct regular visits to the schools of their respective jurisdiction to ensure that all necessary facilities for the smooth functioning of the schools are available there.
