DLSA Reasi hosts 3-day online capacity building program for PLVs

Reasi  : Under the aegis of NALSA and under the Stewardship of Justice Ali Mohammed Magrey, Executive Chairman Legal Services Authority of J&K and Ladakh and also under the radiant guidance and supervision of R.N. Watal, Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Reasi, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi organized a Three Day long Online Capacity Building Program for the PLVs of District Reasi.
The training program was conducted as per the Action Plan issued by JKLSA for the month of February, 2022. The training started on Feb 10,.2022 and culminated till Saturday.
On the first day of the program, the Resource Person, Panel Advocate M.S. Mir explained to the participants the significance of NALSA Mandate (i.e. NALSA Schemes and Regulations) for the weaker sections of the society and the rule of Legal Services Institutions for translating these principles and processes into action so that the participants would hitherto help the hapless citizens to get benefit from the Legal System by alleviating their sufferings and injustice.
On second day, Resource person, Advocate Shalendra Bhardwaj deliberated upon the National Legal Services Authority (Free and Competent Legal Services Regulation, 2010; The National Legal Services Authority (Legal Services Clinics Regulation, 2011; NALSA Compensation Scheme for Women Victims, Survivor of Sexual Assault/other crimes, 2018 and also guidelines of the Supreme Court regarding Compensatory Scheme for NOKs of deceased Persons who died due to COVID -19.
On the last day of the Advance Training Program, the resource person Panel Advocate Ajay Salalia sensitized the PLVs about the Rights of Women particularly The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Rights of Senior Citizens, Rights of Children etc.
At the end of the program Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Reasi, conveyed vote of Thanks to the resource persons and the participants in making this program a successful event.
