JKTF welcomes LG’s remarks on school reopening,Says ” teachers ready to face the big challenge”

Srinagar | Feb,12 : Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF)  has welcomed the statement of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Ji regarding opening of schools in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a  statement issued here on Saturday the President J&K Employees Joint Action Committee (JK EJAC) and Chairman JKTF Mohd Rafique Rather said that teaching community is eagerly waiting for opening of schools in Jammu and Kashmir and added that it was their earnest demand which has finally been acceded to. Rather said that education has been a worst casuality of COVID -19 and otherwise too in last three years as a result of which students have developed psychological and mental issues which need to be taken care of immediately. He said that there’s no alternate to schooling and world has finally realised it’s importance inspite of availablity of best technological tools and other means of communication used in online teaching desired results have not been achieved so for.  Rather said that physical contact of a student with his teacher is of vital importance and socialisation of education can be achieved in a class room situation only where students are in contact with teachers as well  as  with fellow students.
Chairman JKTF said that his organisation has been pleading for opening of schools for last two years and th demand was supported and endorsed by students, parents. teachers and civil societies across Jammu and Kashmir and recently a detailed discussion was held with worthy Principal Secretary education in this regard. Thanking Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha,   Chief secretary Dr A.K.Mehta and principal secretary education B.K Singh for taking the measures to open schools in Jammu & Kashmir, Rather said that the decision is timely and JKTF supports the move in the best interests of the society in general. Rather assured Government of its support and cooperation to make the move a success while taking due care of SOP’s announced by the government from time to time.
