Poonch : District Development Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet Friday chaired a meeting to review the progress of Mega developmental projects coming up in the district.
During the meeting, the DDC inquired about physical progress and expenditure incurred by the departments, executing agencies as on date including PWD, JKPCC, ERA, J&K Sports Council, SAMAGRA and University Campus Poonch. He also reviewed the availability of funds.
The progress achieved by the PWD department on the projects like construction of bridges, construction of Government Auditorium building of Degree College Poonch, construction of Chandak-Mandi road and EMRS building. The DDC directed the department to expedite the pace of work and ensure timeline completion of each project. He directed the Executive Engineer (PWD) to submit the detailed report regarding the status of e-NIT. He also reviewed progress of work on projects being executed by JKPCC including PSC bridge at Mandi and Government Degree College Mandi Campus Building.
He directed the Executive Engineer JKPCC to furnish a report on the physical and financial progress of Mandi bridge to his office within 2 days positively. He further directed the XEN JKPCC to issue notice to the contractor who failed to meet the set timeline.
Under ERA sector, Inder Jeet directed the concerned Executive Engineer to complete the construction work of the 165M span steel truss Motorable bridge with footpath over Betar Nallah Poonch. The chair directed the Executive Engineer ERA to complete the construction of the bridge by the ending March and the approach road by the end of June. In this connection, the District Development Commissioner also directed the Executive Engineer ERA to furnish the status of all works within a week positively.
He further asked the Executive Engineer ERA to repair all the defective lights in the Sports Stadium within one week.
The J&K Sports Council appraised the District Development Commissioner regarding construction of Hockey Astro Turf at Hr. Sec. School Poonch levelling of ground at sports stadium poonch.
The status of work on Science & Technology building & tribal Museum on University Campus Poonch was also reviewed by the DC.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of SAMAGRA projects.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Madan Lal; DYSO, Mohd.Qasim; AD Planning, M.A Khan, DPEO, Executive Engineer of concerned department along with AEE’s and JE’s besides other concerned officers/officials were present in the meeting.
