Poonch : Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch, Abdul Sattar Thursday listened to public issues as part of the weekly Block Diwas programme here at Dak Bungalow, Block Surankote.
During the meeting, the PRIs members and locals raised various issues and demands of their areas including augmentation of water and power supply, medicare facility, construction of road from marhote to hill kaka, release the payment of MGNREGA works, verification of BPL list, benefits of widow pension to uncovered eligible beneficiaries.
Some more issues included check on overcharging by transporters, restoration of canals in Bafliaz, construction of Hari road, laying of new water pipes in Hari, electric transformer for Hari Marhote, Snai, Dundhak and Sangla, PHC for Hari Marhote, patient beds for PHC Hari Marhote etc.
The locals also demanded construction of school building at Bufliaz, installation of Hand pumps, survey of marriage assistance scheme, completion of Back to village works, tourism hut for Eid Marhote near bus stand, motorable bridge for Bandali Nala Hari, sanction of solar light for each Panchayat, repair of damaged pipes of PHE departments and various other developmental related issues were raised in detail.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, after giving a patient hearing, said that district administration is committed to provide all the basic facilities at the doorsteps of the public and necessary steps are being taken to ensure the same. He assured them that all their genuine demands and issues will be redressed in a phased manner.
On the occasion, the concerned officers also responded to the public issues on the spot. He directed the concerned executive engineers to restore all the transformers and water pipelines.
Meanwhile, the Additional District Development Commissioner had a separate interaction section with sarpanches regarding proper planning and monitoring for achieving desirable result.
The programme was attended by DDC Member, Sohail Malik, DDC Member, Shah Nawaz, SDM Surankote, Naheem-un-NisaBhatti, ACD, Rajesh Lakhan, CEO Tourism Dr. Mohammad Tanveer, DIO/ALC, Abid Hussain Shah, ACP Shafiq Mir, Executive Engineer, PDD, Irshad Hussain, Xen, Rew & others, BMO, surankote, Naib Tehsildars, Afzal, besides all AEE’s, JE’s, concerned officers, sarpanches & panches and other prominent citizens were present.
