DDC Doda reviews preparedness for launch of ‘Sansad Khel Spardha’

DYSSO directed to give wide publicity about sports event to moblize maximum participation

Doda : District Development Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma Thursday chaired meeting of key officials of different departments to review arrangements put in place for the launch of ‘Sansad Khel Spardha’ a national initiative to identify the local talent in different sports and facilitate them to find a place at national and next levels.
During the meeting, the DYSSO informed that the registration of teams and players would start from February 12 and last till February 20. From inter Panchayat contests will be held from February 21 to March 10 in the already finalised sports categories which includes Kho, kabaddi and Volleyball, he said. He added that the inter block matches would be held from March 11 to March 29 and this will be followed by constituting of district level teams in each category of sports for the next round. In addition to this, DYSSO apprised the chair that after the completion of selection process of the players, they shall be trained for around 15 days at the district headquarter by the sports experts.
The DDC directed the DYSSO to tie up with their counterparts to know whether any activity is scheduled to be organised on the day of launch in Doda. He further directed to issue a circular which shall mention the online link as well as offline numbers for registration of the participants.
With regard to winter sports event, the CEO BDA informed that the Authority and district administration in coordination with Jawahar institute of Mountaineering will organise a skiing event for which the location of Jai valley has been finalized.
He said apart from skiing other activities including sledging, snow roping would also be part of the event.
The DDC directed the CEO BDA and SDM Thathri to give wide publicity about the activities on social and electronic platforms.
The DDC directed all the concerned to make concerted efforts to make the event a great success.
The meeting was attended by SSP Doda, CEO BDA, ACR Doda, SDM Thathri, Tehsildar Bhaderwah, DYSSO Doda, DEPO Doda. Besides, other concerned officials were also present.
