61 Jal Shakti Schemes completed, 239 nearing completion across Doda Distt

DDC reviews pace of progress; sets deadline for each project

Doda  : As many as 61 Jal Shakti Schemes have been completed and another 239 are nearing completion across Doda District.
The information was given at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Vikas Sharma to review the progress of implementation of various projects under Regular, NABARD, JJM, PRI grants and B2V3 schemes of Jal Shakti (PHE) department here in the Conference Hall of DC office.
The District Development Commissioner was informed that 474 works have been approved for the district under Regular scheme, NABARD, PRI grants and B2V3, whereas 61 works are physically complete and 239 are nearing completion.
It was further informed that 6 works were held up due to some bottlenecks for which DDC directed the Ex En concerned to make extra efforts to settle the issues with intimation to the DDC office.
The DDC discussed in detail the project wise physical and financial status and bottlenecks in implementation of the schemes. The meeting also took stock of progress of work on the water supply scheme for GMC Doda and issues therein.
The SE was directed to conduct enquiry, regarding delay in accord of Technical Sanction to Korara pipeline scheme, and fix responsibility for the same. He was further asked to submit the details about the works in Gandoh division which have not yet been allotted despite opening of tenders.
Regarding the progress achieved in the execution of the water supply scheme of GMC Doda, the DDC directed the Ex En Jal Shakti Division Doda and Tehsildar Doda to visit the spot tomorrow and settle the issue with locals. He asked the concerned to take up the matter with PWD authorities for issuing NOC for laying the pipeline alongside the Bharat road.
The DDC stressed on making coordinated efforts to achieve the target. He directed the concerned officers to blacklist the defaulter contractors and expedite the allotment of tendered works for early completion of the projects.
Among others, the meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, SE Hydraulic Circle Doda, Executive Engineers, AEEs, JEs and other officials of Jal Shakti and the Planning department of the DC office.
