DDC Rajouri reviews progress of JPDCL Projects under Distt Capex, Status of mobile connectivity

Rajouri  : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal Thursday reviewed the progress on JPDCL projects approved under the District Capex budget and status of mobile connectivity and telecom infrastructure here at separate meetings attended by the concerned authorities.
The meeting was informed that a total 208 projects were approved under District Capex budget of which the tenders for 37 have been allotted, while the rest works are yet to be allotted due to zero response from the bidders despite repeated tendering.
The DC took serious note of the slow progress of the allotment of the tenders and directed the concerned officer to take immediate steps to resolve the issue. He stressed on timely utilization of the funds provided for the execution of the developmental projects to benefit the general public.
The meeting was attended by CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE JPDCL, Sandeep Seth and AEE JPDCL
Meanwhile, chairing a meeting of District Telecom Committee, the DDC asked for extending mobile connectivity to all the shadow areas of the district, besides strengthening existing communication infrastructure to ensure better and quality services to the public.
Among the others the meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; TDE BSNL, Chandan Singh and representatives of private telecom companies.
The meeting was informed that there is an issue of network connectivity in Kalal area where JIO tower was already installed but it was not commissioned for want of NoC from Army. The DDC assured that he will take up the matter with the Army authorities to resolve the issue.
The DDC asked the concerned to take effective measures to extend mobile connectivity to the shadow areas to benefit the public. He said poor connectivity has become an impediment in the way of progress in these areas.
The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited was also asked to upgrade its system as per the need of the public.
The DDC further asked them to make the best use of existing infrastructure apart from creating additional infrastructure in the district to provide quality telecommunication services to the public.
