Drug peddler arrested in Awantipora, contraband substance recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested one drug peddler in Awantipora and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that Police Post Reshipora apprehended one person at Railway Crossing Dogipora the time when he was moving in suspicious condition, stating further therein that upon checking recovered 1.1Kgs of grinded Cannabis concealed in a polythene bag from the possession of the accused identified as Mohd Marbool Dar son of Abdul Rehman Dar resident of Liddermud who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 10/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated, police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found involved in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, stating further therein that actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
