Abducted girl recovered in Srinagar, accused arrested: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has recovered an abducted girl and also arrested an accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that Police Station Zakura received a written complaint on 14th January from one person resident of Danihama who stated therein that his sister went to shop for purchasing some domestic items but did not return back.
Stating that in this regard, a missing report was lodged and subsequently upon the collection of evidences, it was learnt that the missing girl was abducted by one person identified as MohdSahil Kumar son of Abdul Majeed resident of Rawalpora Srinagar, police in it’s statement further said that accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 09/22 under relevant Sections of law was registered at Police Station Zakoora and investigation was started.
“During the course of investigation, officers utilizing all available means including technical & physical evidences and after strenuous efforts the team was able to recover the abducted girl from the possession of the said accused person”, reads the police statement, adding that “After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs and further investigation into the matter is in progress”.
Claiming that swift action by Police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals police in the concluding para of the above referred statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood, stating therein further that people can share information pertaining to social crimes with police and reassured them that efforts to curb social crimes shall continue.
