Srinagar : Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather on Wednesday unfurled the tricolour on the 73rd Republic Day and similar functions were held in hospitals across Kashmir with zeal and zest.
The director unfurled the tricolour at DHSK office in presence of senior health officers and health officials with great enthusiasm.
On the occasion, the director congratulated health care workers including doctors and paramedical staff who have been awarded for their immense and meritorious services.
Penitently, two health care workers of DHSK including Dr Mir Muhammad Ashraf and pharmacist Bashir Ahmad have been posthumously given State Awards.
The director remembered them on the occasion and paid rich tributes to their sacrifices in fight against the Covid-19 management.
While congratulating the people on Republic Day, the director recalled the contributions of the makers of the Indian Constitution and the supreme sacrifices of national heroes who laid down their lives for the country.
The director also hailed the services of the Army, paramilitary forces and police in guarding the country and for maintaining peace, security in the country.
Similarly, in others hospitals of the valley, Republic Day was celebrated with great fervor and amid strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs.
