DLSA Ganderbal celebrates National Voters Day

Ganderba : On the eve of National Voters Day, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal Tuesday conducted a webinar on the directions of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal, Tabasum.
Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal presided over the programme and Advocate Sheikh Imran was the Key note Speaker.
During the programme, Advocate sheikh Imran while speaking on the occasion, said that National Voters Day is celebrated in the Country on January 25 every year to mark foundation day of the Election Commission of India. He said that the main purpose of celebration of voter’s day is to encourage maximum number of people, more particularly young voters to take part in political process.
He also said that celebration of Voters day is to encourage, facilitate and maximize enrolment, especially for the young generation who have attained the age of 18 years.
The day is utilized to spread awareness among new voters to participate in the Election process.
Students from Central University Department of law and Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Ganderbal also spoke on the occasion.
The Webinar was attended by Panel Lawyers, PLVs, Students from Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Ganderbal and Students from Law Department, Central University of Kashmir.
