Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review Information Education and Communication activities (IEC) campaign being carried out by the Implementation Support Agency(ISA) under JalJeevan Mission in the district.
Officers present in the meeting were ACD, SushilKhajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; ExEnJal Shakti Nowshera, Bashir Ahmed and other concerned officers.
The meeting informed that 83 villages of the district have been covered under the IEC campaign and massive public participation has been observed in the gram sabhas organized for the awareness purpose.
It was further informed about the activities including sensitization of the public about different aspects of the JalJeevan Mission and role and responsibilities of the Gram Sabhas for its successful implementation.
Speaking at the meeting, the DDC said that JalJeevan mission aims to provide tap water to all households and as such is one of the most important developmental interventions ever taken up.
He highlighted the importance of IEC activities under JJM and asked the concerned officer to intensify the awareness campaign and ensure that all the villages of the district are covered under the campaign. He also asked the concerned to submit the action plan and proposed activity calendar for the rest of the villages at the earliest.
Highlighting the role of the society for the successful implementation of the JalJeevan Mission in the district, he said that the IEC campaign along with community mobilization is a must to make the JalJeevan Mission truly a people’s movement.
Stressing on the importance of collective responsibility towards water conservation, the DC appealed to all stakeholders to work shoulder to shoulder to conserve and preserve water, which is a priceless treasure of nature.
