National Girl Child Day: Arrangements finalized in Rajouri

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal Saturday chaired a meeting to discuss and finalize the arrangements for the celebration of the National Girl Child day in the district.
Officers who attended the meeting included ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid and DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt. The day would be celebrated on 24 January 2022 and it marks the importance of adolescent girl children and attempts at identifying their power and potential by opening opportunities for them. It also aims at amplifying and empowering the voices of adolescent girls around the globe.
Speaking at the meeting, the DDC said that the District Administration Rajouri is committed to take all possible steps for the uplift f the girls and women in the society and to safeguard their rights.
The DDC called for collaborative efforts to remove gender bias and encourage girls at all levels for their systematic development. He also asked the concerned officers to make the women aware of various legal and social sector initiatives to enable them to avail the benefits of these initiatives. He also instructed them to celebrate the day with added zeal and ensure that all necessary arrangements regarding the celebration of the day are put in place well in time.
