Kishtwar : Across the Kishtwar district, the villages and town are connected through its length and breadth by narrow roads. The area has seen a rise in road accidents causing fatal casualties and injuries. Due to lack of knowledge of traffic rules amongst the local population, specially the students and youth, such accidents are recurring time and again which can be avoided otherwise if properly sanitized.
With an aim to spread awareness on road safety and traffic rules, the Indian Army Thursday organised an awareness campaign at Dool area of district Kishtwar.
The event was aimed at raising public awareness about traffic rules to reduce casualties due to road accidents. During the awareness campaign, the attendees were informed about the importance of following traffic rules on the road, wearing helmets while driving and following speed limits. The campaign was attended by 70 locals including Students, youth, and children.
The awareness campaign won appreciation from all around. The locals urged for organising more such awareness programmes which will be helpful in bringing the fruitful results in future besides bringing a civic sense among the common masses regarding the abiding of the traffic rules.
