Kishtwar : To keep a check on the overpricing of the face masks, hand sanitizers and gloves in the market, an enforcement team Wednesday conducted massive market checking in the main town markets.
Comprising NaibTehsildarShoaibparvez, Inspector legal metrology Arun Kotwal, Sub inspector Moon Khan and municipality officials, the team conducted raids at various medical stores.
The checking was conducted after public complaints of overcharging of these articles by the medical stores amid the increased demand due to surge in cases amid the 3rd wave.
During the checking, the team checked the price and the quality of masks besides the medical store owners were asked to display the price of the COVID related items including the masks, sanitizers and hand gloves outside their medical stores.
The team further warned the medical store owners that defaulters will be fined and dealt strictly as per the relevant sections of law.
