DC inspects civil works at Distt Hospital Kishtwar, stresses on strengthening COVID Containment measures

Kishtwar :Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today visited District Hospital Kishtwar to inspect civil work of ongoing developmental projects viz new additional 100 bedded IPD building and ophthalmology department Building (eye Block).
He was accompanied by Medical Superintendent District Hospital Dr.ParveezIqbalWani besides concerned officers of the executing agencies.
During the inspection, he was apprised that the tile work in the additional 100 bedded building is in full swing and will be completed in all respects by March 2022, while the work on the eye block is nearing completion.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the executing agencies to expedite the pace to complete the remaining work on the Eye block and 100 bedded extension of the Hospital in stipulated time.
He directed the Medical Superintendent to monitor the progress of the projects closely to facilitate early augmentation of the Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar also inspected the Oxygen Generation Plant (500 LPM Oxygen generation plant made under Prime Minister’s Care Fund and the other unit of 1500 LPM) which has been Commissioner recently and reviewed the functioning of both the units.
The Medical Superintendent apprised him that the functioning of these OGP has made the district Hospital and Covid care centres self sufficient in Oxygen supply.
The DC maintained that Oxygen Plant is the lifeline for Covid treatment protocol amid the 3rd surge.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the COVID mitigation measures in the district hospital.
During his visit, the DC inspected the COVID care centre established in the district Hospital and took stock of the arrangements put in place for the effective management of the COVID positive patients.
Furthermore, he stressed on the Medical Superintendent to strengthen the Covid mitigation measures in DH besides ensuring adherence to the Covid Appropriate Behaviour and SOPs in OPD and IPD for the safety of patients and attendants.
