DC takes stock of Covid-19 scenario at Anantnag

Anantnag : The District Magistrate (DM) Anantnag, Dr PiyushSingla Saturday held a meeting with the SDMs, Tehsildars, CMO, Deputy CMO, BMOs and other stakeholders to deliberate on the emerging Covid-19 scenario in the district and issued necessary directions.
The DC emphasized that the district is witnessing an instant surge in Covid-19 cases and the system must be prepared to deal with rising case loads. He directed the health department to ensure constant monitoring of home surveillance cases and ensure that health kits are distributed. He stressed that widespread COVID awareness and testing measures must be adopted.
The meeting was informed that a medical team has been deployed at the District Control Room for round the clock tele-consultation and similar control rooms are being activated at the block level.
Dr Singla directed the SDMs and Tehsildars to ensure that containment zones being declared from time to time must be properly manned and COVID SOPs are followed in letter and spirit.
The Health Department was directed to beef up testing in containment areas to arrest the spread of the virus. It is in place to mention that 10 containment zones have been notified in the district.
Regarding implementation of COVID Appropriate Behavior, SDMs and Tehsildars were directed to implement the weekend restrictions on ground. It was made clear that only essential services shall be allowed to operate on weekends. Strict directions were passed to ensure compliance related to prohibition on in person teaching in educational institutes and coaching centers.
The Tehsildars were directed to circulate helplines among the public so that any such illegal operation may be reported.
Responding to queries of DC, TehsildarAnantnag informed that three tuition centers have been sealed for violating the CAB guidelines and nakas have been established at entry points to enforce weekend restrictions in town. Health officials were directed to ensure testing, fumigation of health centers, mask wearing, social distancing etc.
Regarding celebration of Republic Day, SDMs, Security agencies and other concerned officials were directed to ensure complete adherence to CAB at locations where the National Flag is being hoisted.
Meanwhile a complete restriction was observed on operation of non essential services throughout Anantnag. Announcements urging people to stay indoors and cooperate with the authorities were made by concerned agencies.
