Veeri among 10 PDP workers booked for violating CAB on Mufti Sayeed’s death anniversary in Bijbehara

Srinagar: Ten PDP leaders/workers including former Minister of State for home Abdul Rehman Veeri and senior party leader Sartaj Mandi were booked on Saturday for violating Covid-19 protocol by organizing a rally in Bijbehara on Friday on the 6th death anniversary of former CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
“Regarding the subject it is too intimate that the following persons/organizers of Peoples Democratic Party organized a large gathering on 07.01.2022 at the tomb of Ex. CM Mufti Mohammad Syed at Padshah Bagh Zirpara Bijbehara in complete violation of SOP’s and COVID appropriate behavior which may result in spreading of COVID-19 and other related epidemic.” reads the letter of Tehsildar Bijbehara to SHO Bijbehara.
The organizers are as per the letter are Ab Rahman Bhat aka Veeri S/o Gh Qadir A/p Housing Colony Khanabal, Javaid Ahmad Sheikh S/o Saidullah Sheikh R/o A/p Housing Colony Khanabal, Najmun Saqib S/o Gulzar Ahmad Shah R/o Idd Gah Bijbehara, Sartaj Madni S/o Gh Mustafa Nazim A/p Housing Colony Khanabal, Majid Ahmad Khan Nabi Khan R/o Bijbehara, Ab Majeed Rangraiz S/o Ab Aziz R/o Bijbehara, Showkat Ahmad Teeli S/o Mohd Ismail R/o Bijbehara, Mufti Sarwar S/o Mufti Sharif Ud din R/o Bijbehara, Arshid Ahmad Ganie S/o Farooq Ahmad Ganie R/o Bijbehara and Nazir Ahmad Vaid S/o Gh Ahmad Vaid R/o Bijbehara.
“As such you are directed to book these persons under relevant section of law with an intimation to this office immediately,” the letter adds.
A police officer said that Fir no 4/22 u/s 188 269 IPC has been registered in police station Bijbehara and further investigation has been taken up
