Jammu|: The police on Saturday arrested a man for carrying heroin and recovered 7.48 gm substance from him in Samba district here, officials said.
Aman Slathia, a resident of Mandi Garh in Samba, was found to be moving around suspiciously and hence stopped for a check by a police party in Vijaypur on Jammu-Pathankot highway, leading to recovery of heroin.
A police spokesman alleged Aman was a drug peddler.He was booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and further investigation is on, the spokesman said.
Patwari suspended in Rajouri

Rajouri|Jan, 8: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri on Saturday ordered suspension of a Patwari of Revenue department after a video went viral on social media in which the official could be seen taking money from a man.
In this video, it has been claimed that Patwari has resorted to corrupt practices and took money from the man for clearance of some files.
Taking note of the viral video, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal ordered suspension of Patwari Sialsui Halqa, Javed Iqbal Wani.
“He shall be suspended pending enquiry to be conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri who will submit detailed report within a week’s time positively,” an official quoted the order issued by Deputy Commissioner said.
The suspended official has been attached in the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderban
