DDC Chairperson Bla reviews progress of developmental projects

Baramulla:The Chairperson, District Development Council Baramulla, Safeena Beigh Saturday chaired an important meeting with the concerned DDC Members and Officers at Dak Bungalow to review the progress of developmental projects undertaken in the District and expenditure incurred for the 3rd quarter under Area Development Fund.
During the meeting, a comprehensive discussion was held with the district officers and DDC Chairperson was briefed about the current status of developmental activities undertaken and financial position by different departments.
The officers of R&B, RDD, Education, PDD, Health and Jal Shakti were present in the meeting who gave sector wise briefing of different works and presented in-depth details of the progress of developmental projects.
After taking a detailed review, the DDC Chairperson stressed upon the concerned agencies to speed up the work so that the projects are completed within stipulated time for which necessary funds are already available.
The chairperson emphasized upon the officers for mobilizing all the available resources productively and effectively for achieving the desired results. She assured full cooperation and added that socio-economic development should be the sole priority.
While reviewing the progress of R&B Sector, the Chairperson complimented R&B division for their remarkable progress under Area Development Fund.
The chairperson was informed that out of 30 projects, 18 projects have been fully completed in the said division, whereas 9 projects are under progress and 2 projects have been tendered. It was further informed that out of total release of Rs. 201 lakhs for the developmental projects in the said division, expenditure of Rs 138.610 lakhs have been made till date.
While briefing the chairperson with regard to the impediments in the ongoing projects, DDC members demanded black listing of those contractors who could not complete works within the timeframe. They also demanded that there should be work limit for the contractors.
Earlier during the meeting, various issues hampering the path of development were put forth by the respective DDC Members and were thoroughly discussed during which the chairperson assured that all the impediments will be discussed with the concerned authorities for their time bound redressal.
In the meeting, a resolution was passed against former CMO Baramulla, who retired on 31th of December 2021, for his negligence, mentioning that many lapses were seen in the health sector during his tenure in the district especially in the 3rd financial quarter.
DDC Baramulla, DDC members, Officers of R&B, Health, PDD besides District and Sectoral officers of all the departments were present in the meeting.
